Landscape Art

My first career was in commercial roles, helping companies develop their people and become successful places to work. I worked with some big names and travelled to many different places. I started painting as a hobby, which helped me relax and discover my creativity. I’ve always loved colour which, up to this point, I had only expressed through gardening, another passion.

Nowadays I paint most days, whether at home or whilst travelling with my husband in our campervan. I love variety, so try to make each painting different.

Nature and the countryside is my inspiration, particularly Yorkshire where we live. I aim to get a sense of place, the atmosphere, the weather and the mood. Although I love to paint outside facing an amazing view, quite often the images which appear on my canvas are simply from my memory, a recollection of a feeling or a mood of a landscape. My work tends to be abstract or semi abstract as I like to give my viewer a chance to interpret and “ fill in the blanks” for themselves - to see what they want to see!
